Is this a good deal? $500 bucks for an AK pistol?

Ask Wallew...he's a big fan of these.

EDIT: He particularly likes the Draco pictured.

I'd just get a carbine with a folding stock instead.

Given the short barrel & no flash suppressor, that pistol looks LOUD with a BRIGHT muzzle flash. Neat, but probably not all that fun to shoot.

one's i have seen are threaded and have the soldered on muzzle nut. can these be legally removed and a muzzle brake/flash suppressor be installed? would it have to be re-soldered? thanks

Made in the Cugir factory in Romania. Yes, threaded muzzle. But I did just that. And NO it does not have to be resoldered BECAUSE it's a PISTOL. If it were a SBR, then you would have OTHER ISSUES. But it's not.

Yes. Absolutely correct. But LOADS OF FUN TO SHOOT. But lots of muzzle rise. But I fixed that. Hang loose, you will see the results.

RJB, Ah, grasshopper. You ARE learning. I'll post a second pix just for you.

The Romanian (imported by CAI) AK Pistol used to sell for $400. Then it went up to $500. I've seen them at gun shows for as high as $1500 - though in all honesty, no one was paying that price.

I've shot mine with and without the AMD65 muzzle brake on them. The muzzle brake makes a HUGE difference. This allows the pistol to pretty much be brought back into battery for a followup shot immediately. No four or five inch muzzle rise as you WILL experience without some form of muzzle brake. I LIKE the AMD65 muzzle brake, but I'm prejudiced.

You will LOVE an AK pistol. I love mine. And I love my AMD65 CARBINES with the folding stocks. Pix below. Please note the AMD65's work well with drums. And the AK pistol has the AMD65 muzzle brake and pistol grip. The grip is much nicer than the one from the factory.
